It is yet another day.
Sometimes it is difficult for me to comprehensively conceive and grasp sense of the days upon days calendarically arranged. Time is a player. Time is part of today, not simply a measure of its passing. The day is in the form of us as we were in the form of the day. Time will return it, as memory and futurity; part of the pattern of the all continuous space time continuum.
Every now and then just as the way I write my essays, I like to pause for moments in life and re-read past chapters, erase past blemishes, rekindle some old memories, and perhaps reflect a little--- to re-assess where I am gearing towards along the timeline of my limited lifespan.
Yes I have heard, that a lady shouldn't be too introspective. It weakens her. But I am still going to do it regardless. This is part of growth.
Concise Summary of what I took away in 2011
1) "For everything there is a season, time and place, even the day must give way to night". Timing is a key ingredient, choose the opportune moment to strike and remember that every opportunity has a shelf life and expiration date.
2) Don't put all your eggs in 1 basket-- avoid all or nothing scenarios.
3)Dont sweat and spread yourself too thin over too much either
4) No love is unconditional, no one is indispensable, nothing is irreplaceable-- at best inconvenient or unhappy to live without.
5)If u fail to prepare, prepare to fail
6) Always have a back-up plan
7) You wont miss what u never know existed. Sometimes ignorance is the best bliss.
8) Success depends on goals, (occassionally serendipity and luck). Be specific. It's all in the details and the baby steps u take to progress instead of regress.
9)See, sacrifice that is part of a good trick. To gain something you always have to lose something. (eg. time, effort invested, opportunity costs)
10) *Omitted* because a master never reveals all his tricks and lessons ^_^
As for 2012, I strive to LIVE WELL,
LOVE LIFE AND LAUGH OFTEN.
To improve my well-being I shall work on 6 aspects
1) Personal growth
- having new experiences that challenge how I think about myself
2) Autonomy
- Having confidence in my opinions even if they are contrary to the general consensus. (Not much issue here)
3) Supportive Social Relationships
- Never cut what can be untied, but if it's a dead knot, no point right?
4) Self-Regard
5) Control of life
6) A sense of purpose
- I QUIT HEDONISM about 2 months ago (elaborate more in another post if I have time) but what I seek now is more than just fleeting pleasures of vices and materialism. What I really want to work on is equipping the self to screen out petty annoyances and disappointments to juggle the really important balls in life.
I leave you all with inspired hopes for a better future!
And rmb, the key is all in the details of execution!!! Don't lose sight of what u want! Short term pain often leads to long term gain, as does short term gain often leads to long term pain. Don't get sidetracked!!
Focussss!!!
